Work with local and international actors to build stability and prosperity for communities living in fragile and conflict-affected states (FCS) . We intend to reinvest a proportion of the returns generated from our services back in the communities we serve.

Adaptability
Each set of circumstances within a conflict setting are distinctly different. This is one of the reasons why local relationships and knowledge are essential to effective data and research implementation models. In-depth localised understanding of specific situations should therefore be harnessed in combination with broader thematic experience, leading to appropriate methodologies being created for stressful, conflict-affected environments.
Inclusivity
How can communities utilize and profit from research findings? Local ownership is essential when it comes to successful and long-term development programming; Jouri believes this should be no different with research and evaluation data. Communities should therefore be actors, not subjects in research assignments.
Data socialisation
Jouri’s work is centred around producing data that is accessible, relevant and meaningful to local communities as well as our clients and is developed through a sensitive and dignity-preserving approach. Jouri works to encourage actors in the international community to develop these models for data collection when measuring the impact of their activities.
Presence not distance
Conducting the analysis, interpretation and presentation of findings on the ground with local stakeholders can improve the sense of ownership and use of data by the local community. To embolden this approach, Jouri has access to a network of 150 experienced local researchers, both male and female, spread across the MENA region, all of whom are native Arabic speakers.
More than just metrics
Quantifiable outcomes should be complemented with those that are less tangible but equally important – building and maintaining strong levels of trust with local communities, enforced by a strong sense of local participation and autonomy that minimises the pre-existing power dynamics between researchers and recipients.
Investment
Jouri intends to reinvest a proportion of our returns back into the communities we serve. However, reinvestment in communities should not be just seen in monetary terms, but also in maintaining a means of support outside of broadly defined project cycles. To this end, Jouri’s door is always open to local actors seeking advice on matters related to peacebuilding, research and evaluation in their communities.
